Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before your visit — from what to expect during your first session to our policies on cancellations, gift cards, and more.

Common topics

What should I expect during my first visit?

Arrive about 10 minutes early to complete a brief health intake form. Your therapist will then discuss your goals, pressure preferences, and any areas of concern. You'll be guided to a private treatment room where you can undress to your comfort level and lie under a sheet and blanket. Only the area being worked on is uncovered. After the session, take your time in our relaxation lounge with herbal tea.

Do I have to undress completely?

No. You may undress to your level of comfort — many clients leave underwear on, and that is perfectly fine. You will be draped with a sheet and blanket at all times, ensuring your privacy and warmth.

Which massage is right for me?

Swedish massage is best for general relaxation and stress relief. Deep tissue targets chronic pain and muscle knots. Hot stone adds heat for deep relaxation, sports massage focuses on athletic performance and recovery, prenatal is safe for expecting mothers, and couples massage lets you share the experience with a partner. Not sure? Our therapists can help you decide during your consultation.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment without charge. Late cancellations or no‑shows may be subject to a fee of 50% of the session price. Please see our full cancellation policy for details.

Can I use my health insurance or HSA/FSA?

We do not bill insurance directly. However, if your plan covers massage therapy, we can provide a superbill for you to submit for potential reimbursement. Many clients also use Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards — check with your plan administrator.

Do you accept walk‑ins?

We strongly recommend booking in advance to guarantee your preferred time and therapist. Same‑day appointments may be available; please call us at (512) 382-7491 to check availability.

Can I request a specific therapist?

Absolutely. When booking, note your preferred therapist in the special requests field. We'll do our best to accommodate, based on their schedule.

Is massage safe during pregnancy?

Yes, with a properly trained therapist. Our prenatal massage specialists are certified and use safe positioning and pressure for all trimesters (after the first trimester, with physician clearance). Be sure to mention your pregnancy when booking.

What forms of payment do you take?

We accept all major credit and debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, cash, and Serenity Touch gift cards. Payment is due at the time of service unless you have a membership or pre‑paid package.

Do gift cards expire?

No. Serenity Touch gift cards never expire and can be used toward any service, package, or membership. Learn more on our gift cards page.

Is parking available?

Yes, free surface parking is available right in front of our building. We are on the second floor, accessible by elevator. Detailed directions are on our locations page.

What if I have a specific injury or medical condition?

Please inform us at the time of booking and during your consultation. Massage can be adapted for many conditions, but certain situations may require physician clearance. Our therapists are trained to modify techniques for your safety.
